Antique Japanese Wooden Storage Box
Wooden boxes are a standard method of safely keeping and storing delicate pottery, vases, and other ceramic, clay, and glass items in Japan. In addition to pottery, they are widely used for many traditional Japanese crafts, including kimono accessories, wrapping cloths, chopsticks, commemorative gifts, etc, and even food.
This box is made of sturdy wood and has a dark brown wood color. It has a slide panel door with inscriptions on the front and back. This particular box has a non-removable shelf inside, and is for storing food display trays called ozen. It is excellent for general storage, DIY, or decoration.
