Japanese Wooden Bucket Sushioke, Hangiri, Handai

This is a Japanese vintage wooden sushi bucket. It is called Sushioke, Hangiri, or Handai. Sushioke is a bucket used to serve sushi. This is usually made of cedar or cypress wood and is firmly held together by two thin metal plates or wires called Taga. This particular sushi bucket has two flat copper bands.
