Vintage Japanese Fabric Doll Figurine
This is a vintage Chirimen-Zaiku silk fabric doll in the shape of a rooster representing the zodiac animals. It is made of beige, green, and red silk fabric with gold accents throughout.
Chirimen-Zaiku is a traditional handicraft with a history dating back to the Edo period. Dolls, decorations, and accessories are formed from cloth with a textured surface woven with twisted fibers known as yori. Chirimen products are often made from kimono fabric waste.
