When I started this business in 2008 I was running it out of my apartment. We had a two story apartment and I also had my English School (See here). In my living room I started by selling Japanese tools. I slowly expanded to my second item which was Japanese Katagami. When I bought my house I slowly expanded to many other product lines while still doing both businesses out of my house. My wife was happy about our businesses being successful but you can imagine it was getting a bit out of hand.
So 5 years ago I partnered with a friend of mine who runs MB Prints. We moved into the first floor of an apartment building and shared a business space. This space was about 100 square meters and allowed me to expand to my current size. Chidori Vintage has about 3700 items at any one time on our store. This space worked out very well but it has become a bit too small for me again. Here are some pics of the current space.
As you can see our space has become quite cramped. Mike at MB prints also has a t-shirt drying oven as well. When it is 40 degrees Celsius in the Summer and you turn on the heater, you can imagine how uncomfortable it can be packing and taking photographs. So it is my pleasure to announce that we are moving into a new space all our own. Here is the first picture of the new place. Nothing is set up and it will take me a couple of weeks to get everything right. I will write another post when its all perfect. Thanks for your continued support.
