Vintage Japanese Wooden Small Bowl
This is a Japanese vintage small bowl, or kobachi, typically used for serving cold salad, fruit, and other dishes. This oval dish is carved from wood and stained a deep brown with a clear brushed lacquer finish. The design features large chunks carved out from the sides (reminiscent of the kamakurabori style). It can also be used for storing small trinkets, jewelry, keys, etc.
This was purchased at the famous Osu Antique Market in Nagoya, Japan.
