Japanese Lidded Wooden Storage Box

Wooden boxes are a common method of safely keeping and storing delicate pottery, vases, and other ceramic, clay, and glass items in Japan. In addition to pottery, they are also widely used for a plethora of other traditional Japanese crafts including kimono accessories, wrapping cloths, chopsticks, commemorative gifts, etc.

This is a handcrafted large square Japanese storage box made of paulownia (kiri) wood. The lid is step-top and fits flush together with the rest of the box. There is no writing on the box so it is perfect for DIY and decoration.
