Japanese Hanging Scroll Kakejiku W/ Wooden Box
This vintage Japanese hanging scroll (kakejiku or makimono) features a picture of a white dragon holding a ball. The piece is painted using only three colors: white, black and gold. Yet, it is a very powerful image. It is titled, signed, and has a red seal. It is stored in a wooden box with the title and a sticker on the lid.
Kakejiku is a Japanese picture or calligraphy mounted on a piece of paper. Kakejiku was a tool to spread Buddhism in Japan. It has been integrated with Japanese culture as interior decoration. Tokokake is used at the Tokonoma in tatami room. Chakake has Zen words used in the tea ceremony room. Buddha-kake is used in the Buddhist altar.

Good condition considering its age. Some stains on the image, stains at the back of the scroll. Some cracks on box. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos.
