This is an antique Japanese photo glass negative plate showing kids and other people in a schoolyard. The kids are standing outside and are disposed in a square shape around the yard. Other people can be seen in the background, under trees. The kids stand still and have their arms stretched in front of their bodies. It seems that they are performing a dance or a ceremony. In the background stands a wooden building with two or three floors, possibly a school. This negative plate is a testimony of the school life in Japan in the 1900s.
