This item is an antique Japanese photo glass negative plate. The picture is showing a group of men posing for the camera. The Japanese men are disposed in five rows and are located in a big hall. Some details of the room, such as the tatami flooring and an antique clock on the wall , are visible. This negative plate is an testimony of the life in Japan in the 1900s.
