Vintage Japanese Paper Mache Noh Mask
This is a large vintage Japanese paper mache noh mask (noh-men). This character is the face of a woman named Okame or Otafuku. Okame is a smiling woman with a round face, a low and round nose, drooping hair, and round and protruding cheeks (high cheeks). She is said to bring happiness and good fortune to any man she marries. The mask is brown, black, and red and has a beige cord on the back side for hanging. It can be used for all kinds of home and office decor.
