Vintage Japanese Wooden Noh Mask w/Box
This is a vintage Japanese lacquered wooden noh mask (noh-men). This character is the face of a woman named Okame or Otafuku. Okame is a smiling woman with a round face, a low and round nose, drooping hair, and round and protruding cheeks (high cheeks). She is said to bring happiness and good fortune to any man she marries. The mask is fully painted in white, black, and red with white and red cords. There is a soft cushion border around the inside edge. It comes with the original paper box. It can be used for all kinds of home and office decor.
