Vintage Japanese Chochin Lantern

This is a vintage Japanese paper hanging lantern called chochin. This round lantern, perhaps a lantern for the Obon summer festival, is made with thin green washi paper, a thin paper frame, resin black and silver top and bottom, and a string handle. The body of the lantern is decorated with a floral pattern of chrysanthemums and other flowers.
