Vintage Japanese Folding Fan Sensu
This is a traditional Japanese folding fan called sensu. You can use this when it's hot or as decoration. It is sometimes used in traditional Japanese dance. It is metallic gold foil paper on one side and silver on the other. Both sides have a round mon crest both in red and pink. The frame is natural bamboo. It comes stored in a paper box.
This type of fan is called maisen and is traditionally used by maiko and geisha for dancing. Likewise, shimaisen are similar in structure and are used in Noh or other traditional theatrical performances.
