Japanese Buddhist Altar Fitting Orin Bell
This is a vintage Japanese orin bell for Buddhist altars. It contains a plain brass bowl with a wooden striker covered in a red and gold karakusa vine pattern fabric. It rests on a unique round ring stand covered in red and gold floral fabric. Singing bowls are sounded during ritual prayer.
Orin bell sound can reach the Buddha in the Pure Land. It is also used to ward off people's evil spirits and convey prayers to the Buddha, ancestors, and the deceased through sound.
