Japanese Uchishiki Buddhist Altar Kyozukue Tablecloth
This is a vintage Japanese Buddhist altar tablecloth or uchishiki. Made of thin layers of woven silk stretched on thick washi paper, the back is plain white while the front side is a stunning navy blue color with gold, pink, yellow, and orange chrysanthemums and cherry blossoms. This tablecloth is rectangular and is made to sit on top of the kyozukue surface.
