Antique Japanese Princess Hina Doll
This antique princess ohinasama doll dressed in a silk kimono is the perfect addition to any existing hina set or adds gorgeous Eastern flair to any home decor. The kimono is adorned by two hand-embroidered birds, likely phoenixes. This princess doll comes with a wooden stand, likely newer than the doll itself, decorated with a tatami-like resin-and-fabric piece. The doll's head is made of wood covered in gofun. The head is removable. Both the kimono and hair are made of silk. The crown is missing.
The Hinamatsuri (Doll's Festival) in Japan is a traditional event celebrated on March 3rd every year. Its purpose is primarily to wish for the healthy growth and happiness of girls. Hina dolls are an essential part of the festival and are prominently displayed in homes during it.
