Vintage Japanese Wood and Copper Suiban for Ikebana Flower Arrangement
This is a vintage wooden Japanese flower vase suiban. It is reminiscent of an old-style bucket or basin and contains a copper lining.
Suiban means "water tray" and typically houses the spiked weight (kenzan) that hold ikebana flower stems in place, but can also be used for a flower pot, a potted bonsai, or even storage for a collection of potted succulents or herbs.
