Vtg Japanese Traditional Washi Paper
This is a large panel of handcrafted washi paper used as arts and crafting material. It is a beautiful medium blue and has a visually bumpy texture. It is a stiff, yet soft paper that cuts well and looks beautiful under any lighting. This sheet of paper is likely made of standard wood pulp.
Washi paper has a whole host of materials and uses. From drawing paper, woodblock prints, and shoji screens to doll-making, wrapping paper, and postcards, the three main materials are kozo, mitsumata, and gampi, all plant fibers. However, hemp, wood pulp, bamboo, etc are also commonly used for cheaper products and often in washi paper-making experiences for tourists.
