Vtg Japanese Lacquerware Wood Bowl Kashiki

This is a vintage Japanese brushed lacquer lidded wooden snack bowl, or kashiki. Kashiki is a bowl or container that holds sweets served at Japanese tea ceremonies. It can be used for household use, decoration, and as well as for storing small items like jewelry or coasters. It is stained a dark brown with a brushed lacquer clear coat. It has a carving of an iris flower with leaves and a rounded knob on the lid.
