Vintage Japanese Lacquered Lidded Bowl
A bright red with black a black inside and outer rim, this vintage lacquered wooden bowl with lid is a beautifully decorative addition to any traditional Japanese dinnerware set. The main feature of this bown is the painted makie gold designs on the lid both inside and out. There is a large lucky magic hammer (tool often depicted with Daikokuten, one of the 7 Lucky Gods) as well as some koban gold coins. This particular bowl is considered a nimonowan, a bowl made for boiled main dishes such as vegetables, fish, and sometimes tofu. It can also be used for soups and rice.
