Japanese Hanging Scroll Kakejiku

This antique Japanese hanging scroll (kakejiku or makimono) features calligraphed text with big black Kanji letters. The Kanjis partially could be read as 因縁 Fate. This piece is signed by Enryō Inoue and red seals. 

Kakejiku is a Japanese picture or calligraphy mounted on a piece of paper. Kakejiku was a tool to spread Buddhism in Japan. It has been integrated with Japanese culture as interior decoration. Tokokake is used at the Tokonoma in tatami room. Chakake has Zen words used in the tea ceremony room. Buddha-kake is used in the Buddhist altar.
