Vtg Japanese Ceramic Green Tea Bowl
This is a vintage Japanese ceramic green tea bowl, or matcha chawan. It is brown with white floral patterns. This piece is in the mishima style. It has a grooved texture. This bowl is signed with a stamped mark on the bottom. It is sturdy and easy to handle. This shape of this bowl is called hira-gata natsu chawan, which is a tea bowl made for summer.
Green tea bowls are traditionally used for preparing and drinking green tea during tea ceremonies but can be used in many scenes of modern everyday life.
