Vtg Japanese Wooden Spatula Rice Scoop
This is a vintage Japanese rice scoop or spatula (shamoji). It is a common household tool for scooping and fluffing rice as well as for spreading rice out for making sushi. It is a souvenir of Ise, Mie. It features a branded design of a famous place in Mie called Meotoiwa (wedded rocks), with sunrise and the Kanji of Ise. It is light brown and is not coated with varnish.
