This is a vintage Japanese ceramic waste water bowl for tea ceremony or kensui. This bowl is gray with a brown illustration on the front. There is a sign on the bottom.

Kensui are traditionally used during tea ceremonies to store waste water but can be used in many scenes of modern everyday life.
