Vtg Japanese Porcelain Yunomi Teacup

This is a Japanese vintage teacup, or yunomi. This porcelain teacup has an elegant crackled light green glaze and is decorated with pictures of round coins with a square hole in the center in black and reddish brown colors. The edge of the cup, as well as other details, are embellished with gold color foil. This elegant and delicate piece is a compact size and has a light weight.

This type of cups is called yunomi. They are sometimes more cylindrical but they are made for serving and drinking sencha (standard looseleaf tea). These cups are typically brought to guest in one's home, a business, or a restaurant on a lacquered obon tray.
