This is an original vintage early Showa Era daily life photograph of a class of school boys and their teachers/others posing outside a large building with high stacks of small logs. Even in modern Japan, tasks such as gardening, cleaning, crafting, etc are skills that are taught to students at most levels of schooling whether for a dedicated class for life skills or, for example, the practical study of science. The students wear military-style uniforms.
