Japanese Martial Arts Society Metal Pin Badge
This is a Japanese vintage metal pin badge from the Dai Nippon Butoku Kai, the Greater Japan Martial Virtue Society. The front of the pin represents the emblem of the organization: an eight petals flower shape with two Japanese characters 武 bu, meaning martial and 徳 toku, meaning virtue and a bow and two arrows. The back of the pin has the following Japanese inscriptions: 大日本武德會 dai nippon butoku kai, meaning Greater Japan Martial Virtue Society. This organization still exists now and preserves the philosophical values of martial arts.
