Vintage Japanese Lacquer Wooden Serving Tray
This is a Japanese vintage lacquer serving tray, or Obon. This lightweight round lacquer obon is an elegant, glossy brown color lacquered in the Hida Shunkei style of lacquerware. The side has some cuts that make a petal-like edge design, called rinka. Half of the top surface features a stripe pattern, and the other half features wood grain. It comes with the original paper box.
Obon (serving trays) are typically used for serving drinks and snacks to guests in one's home, business, etc. They provide both function and beautiful decor.
