Japanese Porcelain Yunomi Teacup
This is a vintage Japanese Kutani ware porcelain teacup. The cup features a pink floral motif, folding fans with gold lines, and a textured whirl design near the fans. The interior features a geometric blue band near the rim and a round Shochikubai design on the bottom. The cup has a rounded lower body with a subtly faceted upper section and rim. There is a signature at the bottom.
This cup is called yunomi, made for serving and drinking sencha (standard loose-leaf tea). It is typically brought to guests in one's home, a business, or a restaurant on a lacquered obon tray.
