Vtg Japanese Clay Zodiac Decoration
This is a vintage Japanese clay figurine celebrating the Year of the Snake. It is round, red, and gold with a purple string. The figurine has a felt pad on the bottom.
Snake, or hebi, is one of the twelve signs of the Japanese Zodiac (Junishi). There is a sign for each year; after 12 years, a full cycle is repeated. In Japan, displaying the year's sign at the entrance or in the living room is common.
