Vtg Japanese Clay and Fabric Daikokuten Statue
This is a vintage Japanese statue of Daikokuten, one of the Seven Lucky Gods (shichifukujin). This statue is crafted from a variety of materials including a painted clay head and hands, a stuffed fabric body with a wire frame, dried reed rice bales, and clay mice. It sits on a wooden stand. Daikokuten is the deity that symbolizes wealth and commerce and is often depicted holding a mallet, a sack, and standing on bales of rice.
