Vintage Japanese Ceramic Suiban for Ikebana Flower Arrangement

This is a vintage ceramic Japanese flower vase, or suiban. This suiban is wide and shallow with a gorgeous light green with white and brown rocky accents on the outside edge, reminiscent of clear ocean water rushing to shore.
Suiban means "water tray" and typically houses the spiked weight (kenzan) that hold ikebana flower stems in place, but can also be used as a base for a flower pot, or even a potted bonsai.

  • Light green, white, brown
  • Pottery, ceramic, yakimono
  • C1950
  • Item weight: 1800 grams
  • Packed weight: 2400 grams
  • Approx. 27.5 cm wide x 8 cm tall x 6.5 cm deep
