Vintage Japanese Pottery Sake Bottle Kayoi-Tokkuri 

This is a vintage Japanese ceramic sake bottle. It is called a Kayoi-Tokkuri and is used to pour sake. The commuting sake bottle became popular as a rental container for liquor stores in the Edo period when sake began to be consumed daily. This period bottle is gray with some brown Japanese kanji characters on the outside. It has a removable cork fitted inside the neck.

  • Approx. 11 cm wide x 24.5 cm tall
  • Good condition considering age. Glaze and clay imperfections. Slightly wobbly bottom. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos carefully.
