Vintage Japanese Pottery Sake Bottle Kayoi-Tokkuri
This is a vintage Japanese ceramic sake bottle. It is called a Kayoi-Tokkuri and is used to pour sake. The sake bottle for commuting became popular as a rental container for liquor stores in the Edo period, when sake began to be consumed daily. This gray bottle has black strokes on the front. The mouth is flattened to facilitate pouring.
