Vintage Japanese Ceramic Storage Jar
This is a vintage Japanese ceramic jar. This container with a brown glossy glaze has inscriptions on the front as well as an octopus. It is likely a jar that contained takomeshi, rice with octopus, a specialty of Akashi City. Its shape is inspired by the pottery jars used to trap octopuses.
