Vtg Japanese Ceramic Green Tea Bowl

This is a vintage Japanese ceramic green tea bowl, or matcha chawan. It has a dark brown textured glaze with a light brown brushstroke swirl on the inside as well as the outside edge. It has a shallow shape with a generously wide width made for summer tea ceremony. It allows the tea to cool slightly before drinking from the open air. There is a maker's stamp on the bottom.

Green tea bowls are traditionally used for preparing and drinking green tea during tea ceremonies but can be used in many scenes of modern everyday life.
