Vtg Japanese Ceramic Green Tea Bowl
This is a vintage Japanese ceramic green tea bowl or matcha chawan. This piece is in a shino style, a white pocked glaze over a thick base with a brown or orange rim. Under the white glaze, it has a dark brown leaf-like design, and over the white glaze, a green glaze is melting. There is a signature near the foot. This bowl comes with a paper box.
Green tea bowls are traditionally used for preparing and drinking green tea during tea ceremonies but can be used in many scenes of modern everyday life.
