Vtg Japanese Ceramic Green Tea Bowl
This is a vintage Japanese ceramic green tea bowl or matcha chawan in the Shino ware style. It is orange with a brown abstract painting. The side has grooves as a design, and the rim has an irregular edge. This piece is a perfect example of classic shino style, a white pocked glaze, orangish-brown accents, and a rich terracotta-brown base. There is a signature around the foot. It is sturdy and easy to handle.
Green tea bowls are traditionally used for preparing and drinking green tea during tea ceremonies but can be used in many scenes of modern everyday life.
