Vintage Japanese Buddhist Altar Fitting Shokudai Candle Stand Set

This is a pair of Japanese vintage Buddhist altar candle holder stands (shokudai). These candlesticks are bronze metal with a dark brown color. They have a three legs with two handles on each side On both sides of each are images of birds. Candlestands or candlesticks are basic Buddhist tools used in most sects and an essential item for Buddhist altars (Butsudan).

  • Each approx. 6 cm wide x 19.5 cm tall
  • Good condition considering age. Wax residue. Spikes on top are loose (one has been replaced by a nail). Some light scratches. Patina. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos.
