This is a Japanese statue stand for a Buddhist altar. Made for displaying important statues (such as amida nyorai) or for use with offerings, this important altar accessory has a large black lacquered base with brushed gold on the front-facing designs. It has a hand-carved design of chrysanthemums. It stands on three sturdy legs.
