Japanese Buddhist Altar Fitting Offering Cup Stand
This is a pair of Japanese offering cup stands for a Buddhist altar. Also called bukki, this important altar accessory is made of reddish-brown resin and painted with gold. It has a simple hexagonal shape. It is used often in pairs to hold small cups of rice, sake, and more as an offering to Buddha and one's ancestors.
