Japanese Buddhist Altar Fitting Shokudai Candle Stand

This is a Japanese vintage brass candle stand, Shokudai. Some sects of Jodo Shinshu Buddhism use this crane and turtle candle stand. In Japanese Buddhism, the candle stand is a fundamental Buddhist tool used in most sects. In the Buddhist world, the light that shines a warmly in the darkness has been considered the light of Buddha's wisdom and mercy.
