Vtg Japanese Buddhist Altar Butsudan Doors
This is a 2-piece set of inner doors coming from a Japanese vintage wooden Buddhist altar cabinet. The two doors, a total of four tall panels, showcase a slatted front and back with a light mesh fabric material with a simple gold pattern on the inside for airflow. There are brass metal plate embellishments on the border as well as the hinges.
In Japan, the Buddhist altar is a place to enshrine the principal image that is the center of faith, and is a sacred place to hold memorial services for ancestors as a "small temple in the home".
