Vtg Japanese Fukujoju Butsu Buddhist Altar Statue
This is a brass Fukujoju Butsu (Amoghasiddhi Buddha) statue made for Buddhist altars. The Great Buddha has closed eyes and is praying with hands on the knees. Buddha is performing the "abhaya mudra", a symbol of fearlessness and protection. The Kanji characters say Nara Daibutsu Statue 奈良 大佛像.
