Japanese Bamboo Chasen Whisk for Tea Ceremony

This is a vintage Japanese matcha tea whisk called chasen. It is crafted by hand from a single piece of bamboo and is a crucial utensil used in traditional Japanese tea ceremony (sado). It is a natural dried bamboo brown color and the outer band of the whisk is secured in place by black thread.

  • Good condition considering age. Some of the outer band is broken at the tips. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos.
