Antique Japanese Buddhist Offering Stand Kuge Pair
These are a pair of antique offering stands called Kuge for the Buddhist altar in Japan. Cut in a floral shape with a removable top piece resembling a flower. This pair is painted with gold and black lacquer. It is a utensil for offering rice cakes, fruits, Rakugan sweets, etc, and is mainly used by the Jodo Shinshu Honganji sect of Buddhism. This pair is cased in a wooden box.

- Good condition considering its age. Discolorations. Slight scratches. Lacquer is worn in some places. Repair with some tape on the top part. Small insect damage, black marks, and small chips on the box. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos carefully.
