These are Japanese vintage woven straw sandals called warazori/waraji. These sandals are crafted from weaving dried rice straw into a simple oval shape. Warazori/waraji have been a popular type of footwear since ancient times and are said to be lightweight and non-slip in mud and don't splash in water.
