Vintage Japanese Lacquered Wooden Snack Bowl
This is a Japanese vintage lacquered wooden snack bowl, or Kashiki, typically used for serving snacks, such as senbei crackers or sweets, to guests in one's home, business, etc. More elaborate and decorated varieties are also commonly used in tea ceremonies for serving and displaying traditional sweets called namagashi.
Stained a light brown and brushed with a clear lacquer, this sturdy round bowl provides both function and beautiful decor.
This was purchased at the famous Osu Antique Market in Nagoya
