Vintage Japanese Glass Suiban for Ikebana Flower Arrangement
This is a vintage glass Japanese flower vase, or suiban. This piece has a long oval bowl shape with purple and white splashes of color as well as some transparent spots along the rim.
Suiban means "water tray" and typically houses the spiked weight (kenzan) that hold ikebana flower stems in place, but can also be used as a base for a flower pot, or even a potted bonsai.
