Vintage Japanese Agano Ceramic Tea Cooling Bowl
This is a vintage Japanese Agano ceramic tea cooling bowl from Fukuoka. This piece is beautifully painted with a deep green, thick glaze outside, floating a milky, pale, bluish-green glaze inside. This type of cup/bowl is a part of a traditional Senchado tea set. It is used to adjust the temperature of freshly boiled water before brewing Gyokuro or high-grade Sencha in a teapot. It has a subtle spout on one side of the rim for pouring.
